Day 1:
a transport will pick up us from our accommodation to the native community of Shintuya (inhabited by people of the Haramkbut ethnic group). From there we will go by boat to the lodge located at the local hot water springs where we will be received by an Amarakaeri family with a welcome song. Then we will have a short introduction in which our local guide will tell us about the history and tradition of the Haramkbut people. Afterwards there will be lunch. After lunch we continue the day with a walk to a family farm where we will learn about, and collect, local products (papaya, banana, yucca, others). From here we return to the lodge and have the opportunity to take a bath in the waters of the Aguas Calientes before having dinner followed by an overnight stay.
Day 2:
We leave very early (at 05:00) by boat downstream to the parrot clay lick where we will wait for the parrots to eat clay in order to acquire essential minerals. Afterwards we return to the lodge to have breakfast and have some free time before heading off in the jungle again. We will walk towards a collection of beautiful waterfalls, some at which you can bathe and will also visit a natural oil spring where small amounts of oil bubble up from the ground.
On the way to the waterfalls and petrol spring your local guide will give information about some of the medicinal plants found during the walk. After spending some time at the waterfalls, bathing in the middle of the jungle we return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon after lunch a native hunter will invite you to join in a workshop to make your own arrow which you can later use during target practice. Afterwards you will have some free time again before heading off to a small lagoon to spot the illustrious caiman. After some time spotting caimans we will return to the lodge to have dinner and spend another night.
Day 3:
This day after breakfast we will take the boat downstream to Pantiacolla (an area with a lot of monkeys) where we will spend time observing some of the various species of monkeys that live in Manu. We will have lunch at the spot and return to the Aguas Calientes at the end of the day. In the evening we will have a bonfire and a traditional native farewell song before going to sleep after dinner.
Day 4:
We will start the day with breakfast after which you can take a final bath in the thermal waters. Afterwards we will say goodbye to our Amarakaeri family and get ready to return to Shintuya by boats where a car will wait for us to bring us back to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco our services end.
